Interstate moving with a licensed Allied Van Lines agent

Moving one state over or ten states away? Interstate moves are federally regulated, and Apollo has the authority, the training and the Allied network to handle yours the right way.

There are a lot of details to take care of when you're moving between states — even just one state over. Choosing an interstate moving company means checking their range of services, their years of experience and the resources behind them. Apollo Moving & Storage checks all three: we've handled interstate moves out of New Castle for decades, we operate under US DOT number 2334280, and we're backed by Allied Van Lines' nationwide agent network.

Popular interstate routes from Western Pennsylvania

Because New Castle sits minutes from the Ohio line, many of our "interstate" moves are short hops to Youngstown, Boardman, Canfield, Columbiana or Salem. We also regularly move families to New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, Colorado and California. If you're leaving from — or arriving in — Pittsburgh, Butler, Beaver, Mercer or Lawrence County, we're your local Allied agent.

Why experience matters on an interstate move

Decades in the moving industry have taught us that quality comes from a system: the training our movers and drivers receive, the equipment we maintain, the paperwork we get right the first time, and the follow-through of a dedicated consultant. Interstate moves also carry specific federal requirements — written estimates, the "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" booklet, valuation choices and a bill of lading — and we walk you through each one so nothing is a surprise.

Know your rights. Federal rules require interstate movers to provide a written estimate and explain your valuation options. Apollo provides both after a free survey, and we're happy to explain them in plain English. See valuation & protection.

Apollo doesn't just move you — we help you prepare. Our moving checklist, packing tips and guide to avoiding moving scams are free to everyone, customer or not.

FAQ

Interstate Moving questions, answered

What's the difference between interstate and long-distance moving?
Interstate simply means the move crosses a state line — even a 20-minute move from New Castle to Youngstown. Long-distance usually refers to moves of several hundred miles or more. Both are federally regulated and both are handled under our Allied Van Lines authority.
Do I get a delivery date or a window?
Interstate shipments are typically given a delivery window based on distance and route. Your consultant will explain the window for your specific move before you sign anything.
What paperwork should I expect?
A written estimate, an order for service, a bill of lading, an inventory of your goods and the federal rights-and-responsibilities booklet. We review every document with you.
Can you move my car too?
Yes. Car, boat and motorcycle transport can be arranged as part of your interstate move. See our specialty moving page.
